I choose to talk about Democrats and their ideologies. Democrats want to give back to the community and have a positive impact in their lives. They want to fight for equal pay wages between men and women, LGBT rights, and believe in immigration according to https://www.democrats.org. I feel they cover a good amount of the majority by their non traditional views. They are more open minded. Some major differences between democrats and republicans are gun control, same sex marriage and immigration. The reason I picked to talk about democrats is because they way they view the world are similar to mine. Also I like their new school non traditional views.

This artifact come from Youtube from a channel called “NowThis World”. I find this artifact reliable because it cites its sources in the description box. I find this artifacts properly represents the democrat party by explaining their history and current views on certain topics such as unemployment, same sex marriage, and health care. This artifact shows how democrats started to be more intervene in individuals lives. They became the party of the people. This might influence the public by showing the “positives” of this party. By doing this the viewer gets a bias opinion of the democrat party. One thing that isn’t mentioned in the video is pushing away the white work class. The atlantic states “The fear among some is that this polychromatic Democratic Party, open to all races, both genders, all sexual orientations, welcoming to immigrants... enough room for the working-class white voters who anchored the party from Andrew Jackson through Lyndon Johnson.”

Zoe Lofgren is affiliated with the democrat party ever since the 1995. She has lived in the Bay Area her whole life. She went to stanford on a scholarship and earned a degree in political sciences. On the official page of Lofgren we can see how her parties views on immigration which is a sensitive and controversial topic. Her stance on immigration is she supports it. She supports the DREAM ACT which lets immigrant people get a form of legal status. A clear bias is her grandparents are immigrants themselves. She talks about obama and his views on immigration sharing the same party background as democrats.  She presents her stance by doing speeches and stating her opinion on her website. Some limitation to her stance is she does not talk about downside of having more undocumented immigrants come to the U.S.
